The World Is An Ugly Thing
Sailen Routray
Photo Credit - Wikimedia Commons The world is an ugly thing;
you only have to say so.
Then shadows of cranky crows
dissolve into fans of peacock feathers;
orang-utans start remembering
the shadows of their mothers’ dreams;
the arms of a May sun
stop battering the somnolence of timid bougainvilleas.
The world is an ugly thing:
you only have to say so.

Its magical, the wor(l)ds you weave :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I accept your kind words with the little humility that I am capable of. Regards.
DeleteSolemn Sailen,
ReplyDeleteOne has to read through again
To get through
Like knocking twice on a door
For an assured answer.
Solemn..
Thanks bhai. Although it may sound trite to say so, isn't every reading essentially an act of 're-reading?' Regards.
