The World Is An Ugly Thing

 The world is an ugly thing;
you only have to say so.
Then shadows of cranky crows
dissolve into fans of peacock feathers;
orang-utans start remembering
the shadows of their mothers’ dreams;
the arms of a May sun
stop battering the somnolence of timid bougainvilleas.
The world is an ugly thing:
you only have to say so.

    1. Thank you. I accept your kind words with the little humility that I am capable of. Regards.

  2. Solemn Sailen,
    One has to read through again
    To get through
    Like knocking twice on a door
    For an assured answer.
    Solemn..

    1. Thanks bhai. Although it may sound trite to say so, isn't every reading essentially an act of 're-reading?' Regards.
