Some things I Have Been Meaning to Tell You

Or The Bhubaneswar Love Song

The earth is round because
tear drops need homology;
dreams are black and white
since the gods are blind;
nature abhors a vacuum
as it does not have a mind of its own;
when you mix rice flour with turmeric powder,
it turns into the red of your blushes.

Somethings
I have been meaning to tell
you.

Ten years back, there were paddy fields in
the centre of gravity of Bhubaneswar;
there is a hip-hop group in Salia Sahi
that does a mean Odia rap
teeming with beats of tribal insurrection;
your smile yesterday when you dropped me home,
was as perfect as the coffee decoction at Priya.

Somethings I have been meaning to tell you.

    1. Thanks for the kind words. But the colours get all mixed up, more often than not.

  4. Beautiful poetry, and yes, the colors mix up well to make a vibrant love song...ricocheting off the ancient city walls.
